For the first time the award is based on the common rail industry CR assessment (Eco Vadics) for conscious governance, ethical values, respect for the environment and valuation of the employees. The nominees were identified from the first assessment campaign that was launched in April 2015. 49 suppliers in total applied: 40 from Europe; 5 from Asia; 3 from North America; and 1 from Africa.
The price is awarded in two categories, with Dellner winning the category for companies with the less than 1000 employees. HARTING KGaA won the category with more than 1 000 employees. The final selection of the winners considers the business conduct performance specific to BT, and the choice of Dellner was based on the following:
Dellner formalises its sustainability approach through targeted policies on environment and ethical business conduct. Structured mechanisms are in place to deal with policy violations such as potential sanctions. Concrete actions are taken to reduce energy consumption through innovative technologies, and to reduce CO2 emissions from transport. Dellner demonstrates best labour practices by setting individual career plans for all employees.
“I’m very happy and proud to receive this award. It strengthens us in our work to develop CSR and continue to go from word to action” says David Pagels, CEO and President. “We have a long term vision with our CSR work on all our sites around the globe. Our new factory in Chennai, India, is equipped with solar panels. At our headquarter in Sweden we install geothermal heating which means we make investments to cut off fossil heating. We follow up our code of conduct in order to ensure that our ethical values are followed and we secure attractive working places for our employees around the world.”
