Dellner agreed with Stadler to supply Train Connection Systems for its new 210 metro cars. The 42 5-car trainsets ordered by Nexus will be operated by Tyne and Wear Metro network and will enable safer and more efficient connections between Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead, South Tyneside, North Tyneside, and Sunderland, in Tyne and Wear County, North East England. The first trains are planned to be delivered by the end of 2021 and allow commercial operations to start in 2023. The remaining trains will be delivered to the customer until March 2024.
We are very excited to working with Stadler and together replace this entire fleet, contributing to more comfortable and reliable passenger experience in North East of England.
