Dellner Service
Dellner Service supports you as a train operator and a train maintainer throughout the entire life cycle of your fleet. We take care of the repair, maintenance and modernization of the Train Connection System including couplers, gangways and dampers. Our customized service is designed to ensure the safety, reliability and availability of your trains. On request, we can also optimize your service plans and support you in digitizing your fleets.
At InnoTrans, Dellner will showcase the Mobile Service Container in the outdoor display – O/395 as part of our comprehensive service offering. In the Service Container, we will highlight Dellner’s extensive service portfolio through the presentation of an overhauled coupler.

Systems For Freight
As part of the Shift2Rail initiative, Dellner develops new Digital Automatic Couplers ( DAC) which aim to replace one million old screw couplers on freight wagons by 2032. Our couplers undergo rigorous tests done by Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking, DAC4EU consortium as well as by individual customers. Dellner is committed to the next phase of DAC implementation, advancing innovation and sustainability.
DELLNER DIGITAL AUTOMATIC COUPLER (DAC)
The Digital Automatic Coupler is an advanced technology designed for the railway industry to connect freight wagons. Unlike currently used traditional screw couplers, DACs are designed to improve efficiency, safety, and integration through automation and digitalisation. DACs automatically connect and disconnect freight cars, air pipes, data- and powerlines.
Dellner together with other suppliers (Voith, Knorr- Bremse and Wabtec) which were selected to join forces under Shift2Rail initiative to develop the Digital Automatic Coupler for freight, will exhibit the DACs on the booth of Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking Hall: 27 Booth: 511. The presentation of all 4 couplers being a part of the development has an aim of underlining the interoperability of freight couplers and cooperation between the companies.
DELLNER HYBRID DIGITAL AUTOMATIC COUPLER
The transition from screw couplers to Digital Automatic Coupler (DAC), poses challenges for operators when switching technologies. To assist, Dellner has developed Hybrid DACs for locomotives, enabling easy switching between DAC and screw couplers. These Dellner Hybrid DACs offer all DAC features in DAC mode and are ready for customised, cost-efficient integration.
