The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County manages METRO, the public transit system for Houston, TX, and the surrounding area. METRORail (Houston Metro) operates light rail lines serving the downtown Houston area through 44 stations. As the 12th most-traveled LRV system in the US, Houston Metro boasts four generations of double-articulated, low-floor vehicles. The H1 series has been in service since 2004, followed by the H2 and H3 series introduced in 2012 and 2015, respectively, and the H4 series launched in 2022. Dellner coupler systems are on all four fleets.
Dellner is honored to have been chosen by Houston Metro to supply 161 new replacement coupler systems for the first three generation LRV fleets. These are to be delivered between 2025 and 2027. By exchanging the couplers on the earlier generations, Dellner will continue its tradition of supporting this world-class transportation agency and its passengers in Houston and Harris County, Texas.
