Override protection

Override protection components must be able to withstand high bending moments created by vertical offset loading, to keep the train on the track. They can work parallel to the coupler, and will typically engage only after its deformation tube stroke and coupler release have been fully used. A stabilizing function can also be built into the draft gear.
