Dellner Couplers Retractable/Telescopic automatic coupler was first designed for the Finnish State Railways tilting train Sm 200 in 1993. The retractable automatic coupler gives an opportunity to apply the esthetic and aerodynamic front solution to the train, with the coupler hidden behind. Many of the Pendolino Trains in Europe have followed this concept.
