Front hatch mechanisms from Dellner are always tailor-made, manufactured and perfectly adapted to individual customer needs. They offer high quality – well proven in service – combined with low weight, long product life and a competitive over all economy. Most of the hundreds of front hatch mechanisms we have delivered so far are all designed for high-speed mainline trains.
The high-speed train between Gardemoen Airport and Oslo city centre in Norway is one example where our front hatch mechanism is presently in use. Here the driver automatically manoeuvres the aerodynamic front, which opens to free and push forward the coupler 400 mm for the coupling operation. Once complete, the front closes and the train is protected against snow, ice, dirt and other difficult weather conditions. Other examples where Dellner design and deliver new front hatch mechanisms are the AGV/NTV project for Italy, the Pendolino project for Italy and Switzerland, as well as deliveries to China (China EMU).
Our most modern front hatch mechanism made from high strength steel, is developed by Dellner in cooperation with the Swedish steel producer SSAB. The result is increased safety and up to 50 % lower weight for better fuel economy. Alstom for instance, use this Dellner product in their new AGV/NTV train platform.
We suggest that you choose to get both the front hatch mechanism and the coupler from Dellner – to be used on the same train. We then will take full system responsibility and guarantee you fulfilment of applicable safety standards and perfect synchronisation.
