MODERNIZATION AND UPGRADE

Dellner performs modernization and upgrade of all coupler types, regardless of make. Depending on you specific needs, this can vary from for example new electric and pneumatic functions or improved energy absorption, to exchange of the complete coupler.

Electrical coupler upgrade

Dellner has a well-proven concept design for upgrading old electrical couplers. Our concept features pneumatical operation with linear movement, including built-in sequence logic for the coupling/uncoupling procedure.. You also get the possibility to use pin/sleeve contacts and thus transmit modern signals as data, CCTV etc. Altogether this concept gives you a secure, slack-free connection with less wear on the contacts and an enhanced electrical performance.

Gas-hydraulic draft gear

Dellner frequently rebuild draft gears to incorporate gas-hydraulic dampers, which mitigates the damages of an overspeed coupling sequence or an accident. This leads to increased passenger safety and comfort, as well as better trainline availability and improved over-all economy.

Snow- and dirt protection

Dellner´s snow-/dirt gaiter protects your train front systems in all operational modes against snow, ice, dirt, dust and other contamination –for instance from collisions with animals.

Dellner´s snow protection system utilises a combination of service proven technology in order to suit the specified requirements. The snow bellow, made by rubber and nylon, provides sealing between the coupler head´s attachment frame, and the train front when running.

Spherical bearing upgrade – rubber vs. steel

Interested in improving passenger comfort and decreasing the need of coupler maintenance at very reasonable cost? Then let Dellner exchange the spherical steel bearing mounted in your old draftgear to a spherical rubber bearing. We fit the rubber bearing in the existing bearing bracket and joint head, though slight adjustments of these most often are needed. This is an investment with a short pay-off time.
